Aquatic Herbicide

Reward is a broad spectrum aquatic herbicide that will control a wide variety of submersed aquatic weeds. Reward is a liquid and is first diluted with water and then sprayed over the selected treatment area. For those that have done aquatic weed treatments in the past and have never heard of Reward it should be mentioned that the product used to be called Diquat. Reward is used at the rate of 2 gallons per surface acre and is diluted with 20 parts of water before application. It is best to treat with this product on the morning of a sunny day. Treatment of the weeds should be done when the weeds are present and when your water temperature is above 55 degrees. Reward is a positive charged ion, and can be neutralized by turbid water, it is important not to rile the bottom of the pond or lake when using Reward. Although Reward is a relatively safe product once it has been diluted and put into the water safety precautions, such as protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and mouth covering should be used when applying or handling Reward. |

The above waiting periods are based on the entire body of water being treated with Reward, since this is seldom the case, if waiting periods could be figured by percentage of water treated they naturally would be much less, however it is still a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after any herbicide application.

Reward and chelated copper compound tank mix
It has been found that if you mix Reward and chelated copper on a one to one ratio, that this can result in a more effective treatment and about a 30% reduction in cost per surface acre of weed control.
Instead of using 2 gallons of Reward per surface acre, you would use 1 gallon of Reward and 1 gallon of Cutrine-Plus, you would then mix 20 to 1 with water and apply. You should follow the safety precautions and waiting periods you would when just using Reward.
